Be Youth Worker Today
The Be Youth Worker Today project aimed to discuss the creation of a network of youth work professionals.
The purpose of the Be Youth Worker Today project was to discuss the creation of a network of professionals working with young people, at European and Catalan level, emphasizing what the great diversity of professionals working with young people has in common: bonding, socio-educational relationship and support.
The highlight of the project was a three-day meeting in November 2015, in Barcelona, which was attended by more than 150 people from 11 European countries, working with young people, from different perspectives, with different backgrounds and in a significant diversity of jobs.
After the meeting, the documents with the conclusions were made public and a process was opened to create the Network We Work with Young People (XTJOV). The XTJOV met 6 times during 2016 in different spaces, with virtual participation and with a presence on social networks.
In September 2016, within the framework of the International Congress-XXIX Interuniversity Seminar on Social Pedagogy in Girona, a Symposium was held on the Be Youth Worker Today project and the Xarxa Treballem amb Joves, to discuss the need to create a transversal network among professionals of different profiles working with young people.
